The Institute for Sustainable Processes at the University of Valladolid (ISP-UVa) has been selected as one of the beneficiary units in the call for “Grants to fund strategic research and improvement plans and programs carried out by research structures of excellence, starting in 2025 (Escalera de Excelencia),” published by the Regional Government of Castilla y León.
This funding, framed within the Regional Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation (RIS3) of Castilla y León 2021–2027 and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), is aimed at consolidated research structures that, despite having received support in previous calls for strategic plans, have not recently obtained the national seal of excellence through the “Severo Ochoa” or “María de Maeztu” state programs.
Thanks to this grant, ISP-UVa will receive €425,000, which will allow it to consolidate and expand its research lines, enhance its international positioning, and strengthen its research capacity, as well as its scientific and technological impact. This institutional support marks a key step in positioning ISP-UVa as a leading center in applied sustainability research.
