The Institute of Sustainable Processes hosted the speech “Industry 4.0: From transparency to inteligence”, given by Alberto Vicente the past Thursday 13th. Alberto is Advanced Analytic Engineer in charge of Digital Manufacturing in Sonae Arauco, one of the main companies of wood panels in the world which has one of its factories in Valladolid.
During the speech, Alberto showed some of the technological advances implemented in Sonae Arauco factory that have contributed to turn this company into a referent of industry 4.0, and whose example has been exported to the other plants. In this way, he showed how a volumetric scanner for measuring the raw materials was implemented, the use of predictive maintenance techniques, or how the prediction of properties of the panels they produce is controlled.
The digital transformation in the Sonae Arauco factory has been awarded with the Premio Nacional de Innovación de Telefónica, among other awards.
