To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, on February 11th, the Institute of Sustainable Processes (ISP) opened its doors to welcome 2nd-year ESO students from Colegio San Viator and 4th-year ESO students from IES José Jiménez Lozano. The event was designed to inspire and ignite interest in the scientific field among the next generation.

Throughout the visit, students had the opportunity to explore our laboratories and gain firsthand insight into the groundbreaking work being done at ISP, a leading institution in sustainability research. Engaging in a series of hands-on, interactive activities, the students were able to deepen their understanding of scientific concepts, stimulating their curiosity and encouraging their interest in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

In addition, an insightful talk was held highlighting the vital role of women in science, showcasing the achievements of our own researchers and demonstrating how women are driving meaningful progress in developing innovative solutions to global challenges. This initiative reflects ISP’s commitment to promoting gender equality within the scientific community and inspiring young women to pursue careers in science.

The day proved to be a highly rewarding experience for both the students and ISP members, who took pride in playing a part in fostering the growth and motivation of future generations of scientists. Undoubtedly, events like this are crucial for inspiring young people to pursue careers in science and technology, while also helping to close the gender gap in these fields, which are essential to shaping the future of society.
