The Institute for Sustainable Processes (ISP-UVa) at the University of Valladolid has boosted its international profile following the publication of the latest results from ScholarGPS, an international platform for scientific analysis. The ranking lists Cristina González-Fernández, María Molinos-Senante and Raúl Muñoz amongst the Highly Ranked Scholars, a distinction that places these recognised researchers within the top 0.05 per cent on ScholarGPS, whether in the global ranking or within a specific field, discipline or specialism.
ScholarGPS assesses researchers’ scientific output based on indicators of productivity, impact and quality, taking into account publications, citations received and the h-index. Rankings can be calculated based on the entire research career (Lifetime) or on activity over the last five years (Prior 5 Years). The platform classifies research into 14 major fields, 177 disciplines and over 350,000 specialisms.
In the analysis of research activity covering both the entire professional career and the last five years, researchers affiliated with the ISP stand out for their leading positions in various disciplines.
In the analysis covering the last five years, Cristina González-Fernández ranks third in the world in the field of short-chain fatty acids and seventh in fatty acids.
María Molinos-Senante stands out globally both in the ‘Lifetime’ rankings, occupying 13th place in Wastewater Treatment, 15th in Water Treatment and 82nd in Wastewater, and in the ‘Prior 5 Years’ rankings, occupying 16th place in Water Treatment.
For his part, Raúl Muñoz ranks 112th worldwide in the field of Bacteria.
These results highlight the ISP’s research capacity and international scientific standing and contribute to the University of Valladolid’s positioning in key areas for sustainability, such as water treatment and environmental biotechnology.
